Praegu oleks võimalik Gonioporat saada, kuid ettevaatlikuks teeb Internetiallikates üldlevinud arvamus, et teda on väga raske akvaariumis hoida. Isegi kogenud akvaristidel õnnestuvat harva teda üle 12-18 kuu elus pidada.

Kuu või paar tagasi müüdi Mulla t. poest ilus suur eksemplar. Huvitav oleks teada selle saatusest.

do (or did) you have a Goniopora? Yes, I know, I know, I should'nt take it. It would be a real challenge for me , I think. After three days in my tank it looks great.

Yes, I did have two Goniporas for a quite some time. Both were growing pretty well (I had a G. stokesi and G. minor). The G. stokesi actually reproduced asexually by forming satellite colonies.

Unfortunately I had to give them away because I developed very bad oversensitivity for them: my arms would swallow and have red rash when ever I put my hand close to them. I actually took the G. minor to the LFS who touched it with his bare hand and had to go to hospital because of the reaction

I personally don't feel as strongly about Gonioporas as some other people I know several cases where Gonioporas have been kept succesfully for a very long time and I don't think they are "impossible" at all.

Just remember that some species are extremely toxic and will kill almost everything that they touch.

Gonipora on kirjanduse andmeil tõesti üks raskemini peetavaid fotosünteetilisi LPS kivikoralle.
Siiski kasvavad nad mitmete minu tuttavate akvaariumites, värvilised - punased, lillad, “metallic grün”. Aastaid. Tõsi, neil elutsevad sama probleemivabalt ka näiteks Chelmon rostratus või Acunnthurus leucosternon. Kui täies värvis Acropora juurdekasv on alla 10 – 15 mm kuus, on see nende jaoks tohutu probleem...

Aitäh, heade soovide eest! Arvasin ka ise, et peab oma naha peal tunda saama. Igatahes minu akvaariumis näeb ta hoopis parem välja kui poes, kus ta oli liiga tugevas voolus ja ainult osaliselt avanenud.
